Oilo Flynn Glider Review 2025: Is It Worth $2000? (Real Mom Review)

    Updated: October 9, 2025
    Written By: Lindsay Kuula

After using the Oilo Flynn glider for over a year, I’m sharing my complete Oilo Flynn review. This $2000+ nursery chair is one of the most beautiful gliders on the market, but is the Oilo Flynn worth the price? Here’s my honest experience after 1,800+ hours in this chair.

Update: It’s been 1 1/2 years of using this nursing chair multiple times a day. It has held up better than any piece of furniture i’ve purchased and still looks, functions and is as comfortable as the day it arrived. I cannot recommend this chair enough. The value for the price is there. If you’re like me, you’ve toiled months over whether or not to pull the trigger and actually buy it. You want to find a comparable chair at half, even 3/4 of the price, but the reality is, there is no chair like this on the market that I could find, and you are probably in the same boat. I still stand by the review I wrote below, and I have made updates after the year and a half os use where I felt was necessary.

If you find this review of the Oilo Flynn Glider helpful, please consider using my link to purchase as it helps support this blog where I can continue reviewing high value baby products. Thanks! X

    FAQ: Your Questions Answered

I have to admit, I added this chair to my cart immediately after seeing it on an influencer’s IG story. It was absolutely gorgeous. Plush, minimal, and the lines were stunning. It was the first nursery chair I loved. Every other one I’d seen looked either plasticky or bulky and outdated.

Even though I fell fast, I didn’t buy fast. I hovered for nearly a month before pulling the trigger, mostly because the price point was just north of $2,000 and I couldn’t actually sit in it ahead of buying. But according to my community and most baby gear Reddit threads, there are a few items worth splurging on— and a nursing chair is definitely one of them.

What surprised me most was how hard it was to find authentic reviews of this chair. A few scattered TikToks, a handful of Reddit comments, and some influencer posts (including Kourtney Kardashian, which felt… less relatable). Their website didn’t have any verified buyer reviews either. This felt suspicious.

But after hours of research, narrowing down options based mainly on design, and a helpful DM from the influencer I’d originally seen using it (who confirmed it was still her favorite), I went for it.

Quick Answer: Is the Olio Flynn Worth It?

YES, if: You prioritize aesthetics and comfort, have a $2,000+ budget, and want a chair that transitions beyond the nursery
NO, if: You’re on a tight budget, have a small nursery (needs 60″ reclined), or need same-day returns
Best for: Design-conscious parents willing to invest in premium comfort and craftsmanship

Oilo Flynn Glider Review: What Makes It Worth $2000

IT’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL NURSERY CHAIR ON THE MARKET.

And I will die on this hill. After hours (and I mean HOURS) of research, I couldn’t find one single chair that looked better. The bouclé is the perfect size and texture, and the oatmeal color worked beautifully with the modern, neutral aesthetic of my home. The lines of the chair were thoughtfully designed and I love how the backrest and seat look like detached cushions. But guess what… they’re actually attached, which is *chef’s kiss*.

COMFORT: LIKE SITTING ON A CLOUD

Purchasing an Oilo nursery chair without sitting in it first felt risky, and when you’re spending $2k, it felt like a huge gamble. What I will say, even with the limited Oilo Flynn glider reviews that exist, every single one mentioned how comfortable and plush the chair was. I can confirm this is hands down the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in.

When you’re spending hours a day sitting in a chair, you want one that is comfortable.

There have even been a handful of nights where I’ve slept in this chair, and somehow woke up feeling okay.

Come with me on this journey and let’s do back of the napkin math.

During the newborn phase, I was in this Oilo glider for 7+ hours a day. These days, it’s closer to 3–4 hours (I’m in it writing this Oilo Flynn review as my baby sleeps). That means I’ve spent 1,462 hours, which translates to about 61 full days!

And what I can tell you, this chair has HELD UP. There are no indentations, no stains (how?) and the bouclé still looks almost new. There’s just a little flattening in the seat and arms that fluffs right back up with a quick ruffle.

Below I just got up, took a photo before ruffling, and after. (I haven’t ruffled in months as a reference point).

    PERFECTLY PADDED ARMRESTS FOR NURSING

Supportive, soft, and tall enough to comfortably rest your arms during feedings. They’re about 10–12 inches high toward the back and create a deeply cozy seated experience, especially when reclined. This is one of the key features that makes the Oilo Flynn one of the best nursery gliders for breastfeeding.

COMPACT FOOTPRINT FOR A RECLINING GLIDER

Fully reclined it takes up 5 feet, so if you’re working with a small room size, this probably isn’t the chair for you if you ever want to recline. For spec purposes, this is completely on par with other chairs, and actually even a little less bulky than some.

HEIGHT AND SIZE: BEST FOR TALLER PARENTS?

At 5’8″, I find the seat height perfect. My feet rest flat on the ground. If you’re closer to 5’0″, the depth and height might feel a bit oversized, so just something to keep in mind when considering this Oilo glider.

    SMOOTH, SILENT GLIDE MOTION

No squeaks. No creaks. Just a smooth, forward-backward glide that feels more fluid than a traditional rocker. (It almost feels like its going more forward and backward than arched like most rocking chairs.) Whether I’m doing the gentlest motion during a nap or getting some bounce into a witching-hour meltdown, it handles it all beautifully.

    RESPONSIVE CUSTOMER SUPPORT

My chair got stuck in the reline position one day and I thought perhaps this was the end of the chair for me. I emailed customer support on a Sunday morning and they got back to me the same day, within a few hours. And, their recommendation fixed the problem. This does give me peace of mind knowing that they have a team that’s responsive and available.

    RECLINES FAR ENOUGH FOR SLEEP

Let me start by saying I am a good sleeper, but i cannot sleep in any position. I’m the one angrily awake at 3am on a redeye flight because I’m not horizontal enough and just can’t quite fall asleep. So I was worried that I would not be able to ever sleep in a nursing chair.

This chair reclines far enough back that I can sleep in it. That said, it doesn’t mean you won’t wake up with a kink in your neck, but you still get sleep. My pro tip is to use a pillow as my head fell a little higher than the top of the cushion, and just needed a little extra support.

There were some nights where my infant just refused to go down in his crib, and we spent a lot of time in this chair in the middle of the night, fully reclined, getting a few extra hours of sleep.

Please note, this is how I used the chair and that it is not recommended to sleep with your infant in a chair, as it is not considered safe sleep.

Cons of the Oilo Flynn Glider You Should Know

REQUIRED WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY ADDS $250

It’s not optional, and it adds up. The delivery team did bring it inside, but I had to unbox it myself. (Thankfully it comes fully assembled. I just had to plug in the motor.) At ~100 lbs, this isn’t something you’ll want to wrestle solo. Especially 8 months pregnant.

MOTORIZED RECLINE IS TOUCHY AND CONFUSING

If I were to do it again, I’d opt for the manual recline. The motorized version is surprisingly jerky, which defeats the purpose if you’re trying to recline without waking a sleeping baby.

The buttons are extremely responsive and sometimes get locked, sending the chair fully forward or fully back unless you unlock it (I believe this was an intentional design, but it needs to be reworked). Also: after a year of use, I still get confused about which button does what (the front button reclines, the back one resets, feels backwards).

And I wish the controls were on both sides. Using my left hand while holding the baby on my right? Not ideal.

    NO RETURNS ON OILO GLIDERS

This chair is custom-made, which is part of what makes it special… but it also means there’s no returning it if it doesn’t work for your space, style, or body. You have 24 hours after ordering to cancel or make changes, and after that, it’s yours. Forever.

If you refuse the chair at delivery (say, because you changed your mind), you’ll get hit with a 30% restocking fee plus shipping costs, unless it’s actually damaged or defective.

TLDR: This is not a try-it-and-see situation. If you’re unsure, I’d recommend DM’ing someone who owns it (hi 👋) or testing something with similar dimensions before you commit.

This policy isn’t unusual for made-to-order furniture, but it’s definitely something to factor in— especially for a $2,000 chair you can’t sit in ahead of time.

Best Nursery Glider Alternatives to the Oilo Flynn

As noted, I spent hours researching nursery chairs, and below are some of the chairs I almost bought and why.

Best Budget Option: Storkcraft Timeless Recliner Glider

Looks similar to the Olio Flynn, comes in bouclé, and is a fraction of the price. But the material quality isn’t as luxe, and some reviews mentioned stiffness in the recline.

Best Alternative Aesthetic Option: The Snoozer Cream Boucle Nursery Swivel Glider Chair by Leanne Ford.

I knew I wanted boucle as the fabric, but ultimately the reason I didn’t choose this chair was because it did not recline or have a foot rest. (You could buy the storage ottoman as a footrest for an extra $500). This design is lovely, I love how the chair sits.

Best Middle Ground Pick: Babyletto Kiwi Glider Recliner (Bouclé)
(Not basic, not a splurge—just a really solid, well-designed option.)

This is a great “goldilocks” chair if you will. Not cheap, but not a splurge either. The Kiwi has a great reputation, electric recline, a built-in USB port, and comes highly recommended on registry lists. If you want comfort, functionality, and a solid brand name without going full boutique—this is a strong option when comparing nursery gliders.

My Oilo Flynn Glider Rating: The Hard Launch Mom Review

Because nursery chairs are a major purchase and a place you’ll spend days (or months if you’re like me), I rated the Olio Flynn across my four categories: Price, Functionality, Aesthetic, and Clean Factor. Here’s how it stacked up:

    Price: 4/5

At just over $1,800 (with the upgraded wood base, automatic recline and white glove delivery fee) it’s a splurge. No getting around that. But the build quality, customization options, and made-to-order craftsmanship do justify the cost, especially if you plan to use it beyond the baby phase. If it’s in your budget, this feels like a worthwhile investment. If it’s not, there are solid alternatives at half the price. This is a chair that works in a living room, without screaming nursing chair.

    Functionality: 4/5

This chair is deceptively hardworking. The swivel and glide are buttery smooth, the recline is hidden (and optional to motorize), and it’s the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in. And you want a chair you WANT to be in, during cluster feeds, 3am feedings, etc. The arm height is ideal for nursing or bottle feeding without straining your shoulders. The back cushion has great lumbar support, and you can either choose to be upright or very relaxed.

As mentioned above, I didn’t rate it a 5/5 due to the extremely touchy nature of the motorized recline and how jerky it is. Perhaps it would be a 5/5 with the manual recline.

    ✨ Aesthetic: 6/5

Okay, I’ve never rated anything above the max up to this point. This chair was made to be seen. From the texture of to the fabric to the custom options, the Olio Flynn feels like something you picked up from a design studio, not a baby registry. The Sheepskin Bouclé in particular gives it a texture that reads plush, modern, and clean.

    Clean Factor:4/5

Updated October 9th – Changed from a 3.5 to a 4 stars because they have added a no flame retardant badge on their website and they’re Prop 65 compliant.

While I wish the Sheepskin Bouclé was OEKO-TEX certified, it is a performance fabric that resists spills and stains well, so I compromised.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About the Olio Flynn Nursing Glider

Is the Oilo Flynn glider worth it? Yes, if you value aesthetics and comfort and plan to use it beyond the nursery phase. After 1,400+ hours of use, it’s held up beautifully with no indentations or staining. The Oilo Flynn is worth the price for parents who prioritize design and long-term quality.

How much does the Oilo Flynn cost? The base Oilo Flynn starts at $1,249, but with upgrades (motorized recline, premium fabric, wood base), expect to pay $1,800-$2,200+ including required white glove delivery ($250).

Does the Oilo Flynn glider recline? Yes, the Oilo Flynn has both manual and motorized recline options. Based on my Oilo glider review after one year of use, I’d recommend the manual over motorized – the motorized version is jerky and touchy.

How long does Olio Flynn delivery take? – 4-6 weeks for production plus 1-3 weeks for shipping. White glove delivery ($250) is required and non-optional.

Can you return the Olio Flynn if you don’t like it? – No. It’s custom-made and non-returnable. You have 24 hours to cancel after ordering. Refusing delivery results in a 30% restocking fee plus shipping costs.

Is the motorized recline worth it on the Olio Flynn? – Based on my experience, no. The motorized recline is jerky and has confusing controls. I recommend the manual lever version instead.

How does the Olio Flynn compare to the Babyletto Kiwi? – Olio Flynn offers superior comfort and aesthetics but costs more. Babyletto Kiwi has better electric recline functionality and built-in USB at a lower price ($1,200 vs $1,800+).

Does the Olio Flynn fabric stain easily? – No. The Sheepskin Bouclé is stain-resistant performance fabric. After 1 1/2 years of daily use, mine has no visible stains. And I have a toddler.

Is the Olio Flynn suitable for small nurseries? – It requires 5 feet of space when fully reclined. If your nursery is under 10×10 feet, measure carefully before purchasing.

How tall do you need to be for the Olio Flynn? – This is my opinion only, but it seems best for heights 5’6″-5’10”. At 5’8″, my feet rest flat. Those closer to 5’0″ may find it oversized.

Does the Olio Flynn glider make noise? – No squeaks or creaks. The gliding motion is completely silent.

Can the Olio Flynn be used outside the nursery? – Yes! The design is sophisticated enough for living rooms, bedrooms, or reading nooks. It doesn’t look like “baby furniture.”

What maintenance does the Olio Flynn require? – Minimal. Fluff the bouclé fabric occasionally (every few months) by ruffling with your hands. Spot clean as needed.

Final Verdict: Is the Oilo Flynn Glider Worth It?

The Olio Flynn Nursing Chair is a standout choice for parents who want their nursery to feel as thoughtfully designed as the rest of their home. It’s not a budget buy, but it’s also not pretending to be. You’re paying for craftsmanship, comfort, and a silhouette that feels more boutique furniture showroom than baby aisle.

If you’re planning to spend hours feeding, soothing, and accidentally dozing off in this chair (you will), the investment is so worth it. The Sheepskin Bouclé delivers on texture and tone, and the recline and glide features are just as smooth as the aesthetics. If you don’t want Bouclé, they have two dozen other materials that are just as lovely.

Would I recommend this to every parent? No. But if your budget allows and you’re looking for a chair that’s equal parts aesthetic and function, something that doesn’t scream “nursery” and can grow with your home—this is it.

Best for: Design-conscious parents, parents who value comfort above all else, want a chair that blends seamlessly with the rest of their home, and are willing to invest in something that looks good and feels like a cloud.
Skip it if: You’re on a tight timeline, a tight budget, or want something ultra-wipeable and ready to ship.
